DAN 's council blockade hits the headlines in Birmingham

I am exhausted from yesterday's little disability day trip to Birmingham. As usual my sisters and brothers of Birmingham and beyond were on top form. We met some great new people who I hope we'll have with us again next time. I just want to note that the press article talks a lot about wheelchair users but DAN's demands are about all kind of disabled people and DAN includes all kinds of disabled people.

It was a great protest - DAN took the doors of the council office, locked down and held the foyer for about three hours and secured a meeting with leaders at the end of this week.

If disabled people don't get what they want in Birmingham, we'll be back.

We have been warned by the police that next time we'll be arrested immediately.

DAN says bring it on, we were ready to get arrested the first time.

no sorry. I meant I hate it when reports talk about disability rights protests and presume it's all about wheelchair users. Sorry I was not more clear :-X

No need to be sorry Clair....you were clear...it's me who didn't understand it.But the main point, is that I really appreciate your comment. Lots of us who were in the Action, were not in a wheechair-less, when I sat a moment in yours!!!!!- and ARE Disabled as well....... While I'm writing to you, I did post some pics(x 3) of the guy with the "bolt-cutters", which I find personaly hilarious!!!!!! Is it too late or does it make any sense to publish them somewhere?? I don't have a blog, I don't know how to do it, and I don't know if of any interest??Sorry about my fucking ignorance again, Clair. Have a great day, Marisha
